Seth Jarvis
Seth is an actor (The Cripple of Inishmaan, All My Sons), a director (The Bus, The Breakfast Club), and a playwright (The Once and Future Ubu, The Next State). He is pleased to be working with Jim Lantz again.
‘Teena’
Bridget Butler
Bridget has been involved in both community theater and semi-professional theater in Massachusetts and Vermont since 1994. In Vermont, she has had the pleasure of playing Connie in Midwives, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Norma Cassidy in Victor/Victoria, and the wicked stepsister Joy in Cinderella. Favorite roles on Cape Cod included Frumah Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense and a daughter in Quilters. She was most recently seen chained to a bed and covered in ants in Keely & Du at FlynnSpace. Her mom claims this all started with impersonations of Edith Ann when she was growing up in Central New York. Bridget now lives in Waterbury and has a career as a professional bird whisperer. And that's the truth...(insert raspberry sound effect here).
‘Lane’
Colin Cramer
Colin is proud to be working with Jim Lantz once again, having played the role of Jordan in the premiere of The Bus last year. A native of the Washington, DC area, Colin came to Champlain College in 2002 and immediately became involved with the Champlain Players, performing in such productions as As You Like It (Silvius), Ah, Wilderness! (Arthur Miller), All My Sons (Frank Lubey), The Cripple of Inishmaan (Bartley McCormack), Lady Windermere’s Fan (Cecil Graham), A Raisin in the Sun (Karl Lindner), and The Once and Future Ubu (Factotum), by Seth Jarvis. When not performing, Colin has assistant directed with Dr. Joanne Farrell in No Exit and stage managed the Burlington and Off-Broadway productions of Wild Hair, by Robin Fawcett and Jean Taylor. Last spring, Colin and co-writer Emily Day were able to bring their original one-act, Family Therapy: The Musical, to the stage. Colin is currently a senior at Champlain College, completing his degree in Communications.
‘Buddy’
Dennis McSorley
A native New Yorker, Dennis has appeared in more than 30 plays and films and has helped bring the stories of Chekov, Mamet, Soppard, Albee, Simon and local writers Steve Goldberd, Keefe Healy, Adriano Shaplin and James Lantz to life. He received accolades at the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s world premiere of Dogs of War by Keefe Healy, a nomination for Best Actor at the Brighton Beach Fringe Festival for Healy’s drama Fish Dancing, and good reviews last year in Jim Lantz’s The Bus. He is proud to be working with Adriano Shaplin and the Riot Group in the current production of Hearts of Man at the 2007 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival. Dennis enjoys being himself in his spare time and sharing life’s joys with his wife, Janet.
‘Lona’
Teresa Lorenco
Teresa is a thirty-something single Latina mother who, in American Machine, is playing a thirty-something single Latina mother. Several years ago while attending Community College of Vermont, Teresa noticed an audition announcement for the University of Vermont production of the Vagina Monologues. Auditioning for the part, Teresa was cast in the play, caught the acting bug, and is now hooked on theatre and performance. Earlier this year she performed in the 2007 production of Spiepalast Cabaret. Teresa is glad to be, once again, taking the stage to play the role of Lona in American Machine.
‘Winkie’
Bill Toscano*
Bill is a New York actor, director and playwright. His acting credits include Oscar in The Odd Couple, Jigger in Carousel, Pap/King in Big River, Galileo on The Learning Channel, Emperor Joseph II in Amadeus, and Strength in the upcoming film The Summoning of Everyman. Recently he directed a critically acclaimed production of The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol in Washington DC. His most recent writing endeavor is a psychological family drama entitled Surviving BillyBoy.

James Lantz, Writer/Director
Jim wrote and produced his first play, The Bus, which premiered at FlynnSpace in Burlington in 2006. His new play, American Machine, is a co-commissioned project of The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts. Relatively new to the theatre, Jim started as a high school teacher in rural Virginia, then moved on to be a filmmaker in Washington DC and New York City where he wrote, directed and produced more than 200 commercial films and videos. Jim currently teaches public speaking at Community College of Vermont and lives in Burlington with his wife, Lynn, and two sons, Keenan and Shepherd.
